What it is
Fat is measured in grams per 100 g, and the figure here is total fat. Oils, butter, nuts and seeds have the most, and meat, fish, eggs and dairy contain it too. This page ranks foods by how many grams of fat $1 buys. Fat has more calories per gram than protein or carbohydrate, so the cheapest sources of fat often rank high on the calories page as well.
What foods are high in fat?
Per 100 g, the highest values are in butter, macadamias and pecans. By food group, Nuts and seeds has the highest average, at 54.7 g per 100 g.

Fat per dollar
Each food's fat per kg is divided by its price per kg in your location, so the list shows how much fat $1 buys. For the bone-in cuts marked with *, I first multiply by the share that is meat. Foods with no price for your location are left out.
